One Church,
One Family,
One Child
What Would it Look Like?
What would it look like if the Church took its place?
And every child looked to her and was safe.
What would the world be if Christians took hold?
And the hearts of the children they committed to mold.
What would orphans do if the houses were plenty?
And no one was left wondering how they were lost among many.
What would it look like if we lived out God’s word?
And sought to care for the broken and fight for the unheard.
You see in James 1:27, we are ALL CALLED
To care for the hurting, no matter how small.
In March, Louisiana Fosters started recruiting Churches to take their place in the foster care community. The plight of these children should be at the forefront of the Churches ministry. However, we are finding that the disconnect between Church and foster care seems to be a vast divide. This tour aims to simplify getting involved in the foster care community in whatever way your congregation can. Each month we are meeting with churches across the state to get them thinking of ways to serve this community. Of course, the most critical need is to find loving and supportive foster families, but that may not be where you start. Other foster families need support! Local non-profits already working in this arena need support! Here at Louisiana Fosters, we always say everyone can do something! From collecting gift cards to becoming a foster parent, it’s all needed and all-important. If you need any information, please visit our website!
