Crescent City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated

On September 28, 2019, the First Lady joined an influential group of women in support of the Champions for Change Luncheon hosted by the Crescent City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The Links, Incorporated consists of more than 16,000 professional women of color in 288 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom.  It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.

The organization’s signature programming reinforces the work of the Louisiana First Foundation to help address some of the most pressing problems facing children, women and families in our state. Whether its mentoring promising student artists through Classics Through the Ages, supporting careers in STEM through the national STEM Education and Career Readiness Initiatives, creating greater awareness of the importance of Historically Black Colleges and University (HBCUs), or educating communities about the need for increased access to mental health services, The Links, Incorporated is making a difference in the lives of so many across our state. The Links, Inc. salutes the First Lady for her dedicated leadership in this critical time of need in our state’s history and looks forward to a continued partnership as we put Louisiana First.
